I am honoured to have been granted a L’Oréal-UNESCO Award For Women in Science in the XII Spanish edition.
The best part of the ceremony was the “Science Dating” activity organized by L’Oréal to attract the attention of young girls to STEM careers. They have launched a campaign to call on all private and public initiatives to work together towards this aim.
I wish them all the best of luck with this enterprise!

I have collaborated with the great team at IA on writing a review where we explore the dynamics and evolution of the Universe at early and late times, focusing on both dark energy and modified gravity models and their astrophysical and cosmological consequences. The paper is already available in Symmetry-Open Access Journal.
The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) has detected gravitational waves for the first time. Congratulations to the LIGO team.

The essay “Accelerating universe as a result of an adjustment mechanism”, written in collaboration with Nelson J. Nunes, has been awarded honorable mention in the Gravity Research Foundation essay competition 2015. In this essay we propose that the theory of gravity’s vacuum is described by a de Sitter geometry. Under this assumption we consider an adjustment mechanism able to screen any value of the vacuum energy of the matter fields. We discuss the most general scalar-tensor cosmological models with second order equations of motion that have a fixed de Sitter critical point for any kind of material content. These models give rise to interesting cosmological evolutions that we also discuss.
